the SC Project
Well, I don't entirely know what to write here, so let's start with a welcome. If you're reading this, then you're reading my first ever blog post. Thanks! A little background, I first learned how to sew and crochet when I was about 10 years old, kept on crocheting, and fell hard for quilting about a year ago. So now I spend all my free money on fabric! I'm also somewhat (not really) ashamed to admit the first thing I do when I get home from work each night is pet some of my fabric stash - know what I mean?Okay - on to bigger and better (and more fun) things. What is the SC project? Well, inspired by The Happy Zombie's Ron Swanson Along, but knowing myself to be much more of a Big Bang Theory fan, I decided to start the SC project - get it? Sheldon Cooper?
I first had grand plans of doing a grid of all the characters' heads a la the Brady Bunch. Then I started working on pixelating a photo. So yeah. One pixelated photo will be plenty, thank you!
After about 6 hours of two-inches-from-the-computer-screen fun, I took a break.
After another 3 hours the following day I was regretting my decision. Luckily I'm nothing if not stubborn - I would finish!
Finally, after I-have-no-idea-how-many hours later, I finally had a finished face, a calculated size (70" x 70"), a color assigned to each shade of grey, and the one word most brilliantly used in Jim Parsons' portrayal of Sheldon Cooper. Wait, I just signed up for 4,900 one-inch finished squares? Well, here we go...
